The vampires arrived three days ago, and set up camp in the abandoned castle ruins just outside your beautiful rural village of Plumford. They finished off the milkman Mr Gribbage before anyone realised what was going on. In a silver lining, nobody liked Mr Gribbage very much; he was cantankerous even by Plumford’s standards.

Fortunately, while the vampires were still dabbing Mr Gribbage from their chins, the town vicar found a crumbling old book in their predecessor’s study which contained a warding spell. By chanting this from the steeple, the vicar has managed to place a protection over the town so that the vampires cannot enter. It has, at least, bought you some time - but anyone going outside the town boundaries is at risk of almost certain death.
