Fae’s Anatomy

Patrick Rose, John Keyworth and Holly Wall

Set in a distant future where magic has largely replaced technology and the fair folk live openly among us, the communes of Swanshire and their world-famous magical hospitals face strange new expressions of magic and a spate of odd illnesses. Is it a simple coincidence, or is something deeper afoot?

Fae's Anatomy is a mostly co-operative megagame of resource management and forward planning, in a light and whimsical setting. All the players will need to work together to keep the hospitals running, but each commune has its own projects, and its own secrets...

  • For more information, check out this episode of the Megagame Assembly podcast

  • 20-32 players (including a press team of 2)

  • Most roles involve some level of mechanical complexity, and all roles rely heavily on communication and collaboration

  • Runs with 6-8 facilitators. All will need to resolve detailed mechanics (but also manage some freeform actions)

  • The game is available for £80

  • Around 900 cards

  • 2 large maps

  • Need to purchase (or already own) 800+ generic tokens (wooden cubes etc), plus 60 sand-timers of varying durations and "toddler fodder" (play-doh, paper, bouncy balls etc). You'll need to come up with a solution for moving patients with cubes on them - the pack contains templates suitable for laser cutting if you have access to that

  • Total cost (before venue, including license) approx £300-£350
